People watching in San Diego is a spectator sport made even better thanks to the amazing dining joints that call "America's Finest City" home. Relaxing views, interesting people, and incredible food - you can find that at many dining joints all around San Diego County. We can't cover all the hot spots today, so here's four dining joints in San Diego where noshing and people watching go hand in hand like beans in a burrito. Where's your spot?

Half Door Brewing - Downtown San Diego

Located in an old converted Victorian home one block from Petco Park, Half Door Brewing ties all the people watching ingredients together. With an in-house brewery crafting fresh IPA's, Pale Ales, Stouts and a second-story wraparound people-watching platform, you can't go wrong hanging out during baseball season or tourist-season, so pretty much all year round. Of course, the comfort, Irish-style, more-than-pub-food fare such as Red Ale Braised Pork Belly with garlic mashed potatoes, lacinato black kale, oyster mushrooms, pork belly jus makes the people watching/noshing experience even more delectable. 

SEA180° Coastal Tavern - Imperial Beach

Beachside dining in Imperial Beach just took a giant leap forward thanks to the addition of SEA180° Coastal Tavern. It's part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, so you're sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds. Try the Baja Cioppino, a smoked tomato broth fish stew featuring Mexican white prawns, baja bay scallops, little neck clams, mussels, local fish, calamari, and guajillo chili that complements the impressive sunset dining views of Imperial Beach Pier and Coronado Islands. Of course, it's IB, so you can also expect see some colorful beachside character's, too. 

Ki's Restaurant - Cardiff by the Sea

Instead of people watching, Ki's Restaurant offers awe-inspiring sunset views and surfers hanging ten on the local Cardiff waves. Ki's Restaurant is a casual rooftop dining destination where you can share a bottle of Chardonnay with a date while feasting on fresh, local eats such as the Macadamia Coconut Mahi, an inspiring dish featuring Mahi Mahi rolled in Macadamia Nuts and Coconut served with Tropical Salsa, Sweet and Sour Glaze, and Thai Peanut Sauce, so good!  

Black and Blue - Valley View Casino

Okay, you're in a casino, Valley View Casino, so you know you're going to see all kinds of folks pushing pennies and other monies into slot machines. Thankfully, there's Black and Blue as a respite from the blinking lights, noise, and clamoring of the casino floor. Black and Blue is an upscale steakhouse where you can satisfy your craving and spend your hard won casino earnings on a perfectly cooked Filet Mignon or the Lobster Tower Salad, an impressive and elegant meal stacked with Lobster, Avocado, Grapefruit and Micro Greens.
